CO Level Programmatic Alignment Process Results
The four Latin America national offices (
) each conducted the programmatic alignment process in anywhere between XX weeks and one year, and all four Latin America country offices completed the process by 2007. Although each office conducted the programmatic alignment process differently, there were several components common to all four country alignment processes which the LAC Regional Office later identified in its review of the process.
Initial Analysis and Impact Indicators
- Process participants choose from list of MDG targets and others outside of the MDG framework that are in line with the Rights Based Approach (RBA) and CARE International Programming Principles.
Identification of the Underlying Causes of Poverty (UCP)
- Process participants perform an inter-disciplinary analysis in order to identify the UCP that prevent progress in each thematic area. Although each country office devised a unique list, two UCP were consistently chosen--
poor and poorly executed public policies.
- Process participants assess the findings of the process thus far, revisit and adapt program priorities, and begin to evaluate the future of these priorities.
